Sahara Sunset – I had heard that huge dust storms of the Sahara, sweeping eastward into the atmosphere would create unique sunsets – visible to us. One evening in late July a dusty rose orange sunset did appear and whether this was caused by the Sahara, I do not know, but seemed possible. I had been working on the colors of this painting for some time and then decided that in contrast it did suggest a connection.
